Introduction

This is the first blog of my music magazine coursework project.  Over the course of this blog, I will show you how I have been building up ideas for my music magazine.
I am particulary interested in RnB and Indie Rock. Some artists that i really enjoy listening to are The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, The Libertines, Kings of Leon, Oasis, Jason Derulo, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake and Eminem.
The most natural choice of magazine for me to study is NME.
NME magazine is for Indie/Pop fans, who really enjoy the rock music with some modern features. It is also useful for fans finding out more information about new and fresh bands who are being noticed in places like America and Britain. The magazine also gives them the chance to recieve albums or posters of their favourite bands.

'Whats on TV' and 'Auto Trader' are the two best selling magazines with over a 100,000 copies sold in one year from June 2009-July 2010. Although there are many other magazines that are very close to these figures including Radio Times, Zoo and Nuts. With NME, that falls rapidly underneath these magazines with only 294,000 copies sold, this explains that even though it is a very well known magazine it's not always the most popular with the public as it only attracts a certain audience.
