College Magazine

Before we produce our music magazine for assesment, we have to make sure we have the skills to produce it. To do this, we have been given the task to create a college magazine with a front cover and contents page to give us an insight on how to use our creative skills to the best use.

I have researched other college magazines to give me some inspiration on how to create my own, and this is what i found:

This magazine uses the average, cool and relaxed pose by looking away from the camera with a slight smile. Its also a medium close up (MCU) shot to emphasise on his face and shoulders, the title 'relevant' and the blue font 'zac levi' actually frames the males face to make it much more eye catching as it gives it that outline. The lighting on the photograph gives the audience that shadow effect with some of his face high key and the other half low key. The angle of the shot is at eye level, so there is no power or status included with the shot. The proxemics of the photograph show that this man is taking up the full space of the front cover, which tells us that the magazine is focusing directly on him. Also the use of indirect mode of address, this gives the audience that feeling of invitement towards the magazine and that it's trying to make you read more and more.
